A Bride can plan her day down to every detail. What happens when something goes wrong? We received a call that her plans had changed and she wanted to know if we could do a bouquet with burgundy dahlias. She wanted fall. Fall in her mind was dark purple, burnt orange and burgundy. She was really wanting the dahlia. With the first frost possible and burgundy dahlias in high demand, we went to work. When we called her back and said yes, she was in tears. With very little input, a bouquet was designed with all her wants in less than 2 weeks. It had the burgundy dahlias, the burnt orange and the dark purple. We wish her reaction was caught on video but her tears of pure joy and amazement told us we had done it again! This may be the last week we can post dahlias but what a way to end!
I trust you
A Bride walks in and says the three little words any artist loves to hear…”I trust you”, it makes the designer ecstatic! We have this happen a few times a year. They won’t even show us an inspiration photo. They give us a color palette and sometimes even discriptive words. Romantic, artistic, fabulous….that is all we have.
The designer, when given full control, gets to design according to the freshest flowers, the coolest local grown specialty touches, and will choose flowers the Bride most likely has never heard of.
When the Bride sees the bouquet for the first time we usually get tears, hugs, and hear “this is exactly what I wanted without knowing it!” This bouquet was one of those. She said she loved our work on the website and her colors were white and green. That was it! This is what I designed. Of course I had to use Dahlias! Pairing that with lisianthis, astilble, and calcinia completed my vision… I thought. I mentioned that if I could add love grass it would be beautiful. With no restrictions, I did! Guess what the Bride noticed most? The love grass!
Here is to artistic freedom! ~W
Marvelously Modern
Why did I choose a modern centerpiece for Wedding Wednesday? With all the different types of venues Greenville has to offer, we have to be flexible with the style that best embodies the Bride, event, and space. With everyone wanting new, different and unique, I was inspired to create this sleek arrangement full of interesting touches. Starting with a sophisticated vase, I added gold manzanita branches, white phalaenopsis ochids, gomphocarpus physocarpus and bells of Ireland. This simple, yet elegant, arrangment is sure to make an impression. ~W
